We will meet on Mondays in November, from 530-630pm EST for an instructional class, and on Wednesdays in November from 530-630pm EST for an open art studio experience.

Learn how to use a DSLR camera for photography!  Teens practice the many features of a camera, and understand shutter, aperture, ISO, depth of field, composition, perspective, and many other elements of photography.  More than anything, teens will develop their own style with open-ended prompts/assignments to encourage them to practice taking pictures.  We will have prompts, and encourage kids to send in their work.

Each week we will look at the work of famous photographers, ask critical questions and relative questions about what they see.  Asking questions about the principles of art and design, but also if they like it? Asking why?  We will follow the same critical process when they share their photos.  We will ask what we see, what their process was, and how they came about it. This is often the student’s favorite part of class.  There is a lot of kindness and positive reinforcement.
